We are back home now from Arkansas and have almost finished unpacking. I want to thank everyone who was praying for Jeff and his family this week. The service was beautiful and a celebration of the life of a wonderful Christian man. At the visitation Luke was noticing that people kept crying. I told him it was because we were sad that Pa was gone but he would then remind me that "Pa is in heaven now!" It was good to see all of our family, I just wish it had been under better circumstances. Please continue to pray for Granny because she has many days ahead of her that will be very hard to get through.
I wanted to go ahead and put some pictures from our Easter weekend on here and tell you a little about our weekend. They are in the previous post. We had a great Easter. Friday the kids were out of school and Jeff and I had the day off so we were able to spend the day together as a family. We went to Clarksville and got some shopping done and just enjoyed being together.
Saturday was our church Easter egg hunt. We do this for the whole community. We ended up having around 150 kids there and lots of parents! The kids had a great time. They divide up the kids by ages and have a huge area in the field behind our church sectioned off for each age group. I got my exercise that day trying to run and get pictures of all the kids. They draw names for prizes in each age group and Kylee won a $15 gift card to Toys R us! She was so excited, of course! We had a big bouncey slide that the kids and even a few of the adults enjoyed. It was pretty cold that morning but we all still had a great time. As people left the egg hunt we handed out bags that Jeff and I made up with info about our VBS in it. So hopefully some of the kids will come back this summer for VBS. We are also hoping to have some families visit that do not already have a church they attend regularly.
That evening we colored 30 eggs. It takes a lot of eggs for everyone to be able to color more than one egg. The kids had fun and we got by without anyone spilling any of the dye!! Sunday afternoon we went over to Scott and Lisa's house for Easter dinner. As usual we had lots of good food. After lunch Jeff and Ben hid eggs outside for the kids to hunt. Jacob was very excited to find the prize egg which had $10. We had a great weekend spending time with our family and celebrating the resurection of Christ!
